Hex Socket Screws
Hex socket screws are driven by a hexagonal key (Allen key) recessed in the head, which allows high torque with a clean, flush appearance. We supply 304 stainless hex socket screws in socket cap, countersunk and button head styles, plus equivalent carbon steel families with plated finishes.

About this category
The hex drive takes torque far better than a cross recess, so hex socket screws suit clamped joints that are tightened hard — jigs, fixtures, machine frames and 3D printer or robotics builds. Countersunk (flat) heads sit flush with the surface; button heads give a low, rounded profile with a wider bearing area.
304 stainless is the default choice for corrosion resistance without plating. Plated carbon steel versions are stronger per size but rely on their coating — choose by environment and strength requirement, and ask us when a grade or standard number matters for your project.
Typical applications
- Machine frames, jigs and fixtures
- Electronics housings needing flush or low-profile heads
- Robotics, 3D printers and hobby engineering
- Equipment assembly where torque matters more than speed
Materials & finishes
Carbon steel screws supplied in two surface finishes: bright nickel plating for a clean decorative look, and black oxide for a low-glare, economical technical finish. The base steel is the same in both lines — the finish changes appearance and mild-corrosion behaviour, so stainless steel stays the choice for damp and outdoor use. Current lines cover self-tapping, machine, hex socket and screw-and-washer assemblies. Any specific size or grade depends on the item and is confirmed with your quotation.

Hex Socket Screws — common questions
Socket cap, countersunk or button head — which one do I need?
Use socket cap for general high-clamp assembly, countersunk when the head must sit flush with the surface, and button head for a low profile with a smoother look. Our guides cover the trade-offs in detail.
Can you provide grades (e.g. 10.9 / 12.9) or standard numbers?
Grade and standard data are confirmed per product in our database. Send us the requirement with your RFQ and we will confirm what the supplying factory can document — availability depends on specification.
Do you sell hex socket screws in stainless only?
Our stainless line is 304. Nickel plated and black oxide finished carbon steel families are also part of the catalog — check the Screw & Washer Assemblies and other categories, or ask with your specification.
