Technical notes
The cone-shaped head seats into a matching 90° countersink; the tapered tapping thread cuts its own mating thread in the substrate.
Countersink the pilot hole to match the head angle, or the head sits proud and loads unevenly.
304 Stainless Countersunk Self-Tapping Screws (KB Series) — FAQ
Do I need a countersunk hole?
For a flush finish yes — the flat head needs a 90° countersink. Without one the screw still clamps, but the head sits above the surface.
Sharp or blunt tip?
These are standard sharp-point self-tapping screws. If your line runs into thicker metal, ask about thread-forming alternatives in your RFQ.
